Discover Pho One

If you’re driving down 2305 S State Hwy 121, Lewisville, TX 75067, United States, and craving a bowl of authentic Vietnamese comfort food, Pho One is the kind of place that makes you slow down and pull into the parking lot without overthinking it. I’ve eaten a lot of pho across Texas-from Dallas to Houston-and I’m usually skeptical of strip-mall gems. But this spot genuinely surprised me in the best way.

The first thing that hits you when the bowl arrives is the aroma. That slow-simmered beef broth carries layers of star anise, cinnamon, clove, and charred onion. According to culinary research published by the Institute of Food Technologists, long-simmered bone broth extracts collagen and amino acids that contribute both depth of flavor and nutritional value. You can taste that process here. This isn’t rushed stock; it’s clearly simmered for hours, which is exactly how traditional Vietnamese pho is meant to be prepared.

I ordered the classic pho tai (rare beef), and the thin slices of steak cooked gently in the steaming broth right at the table. The rice noodles were tender but not mushy-a detail that matters more than people think. Overcooked noodles can ruin the texture balance of a bowl. The fresh herbs-Thai basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, and lime-were crisp and vibrant. It’s the kind of thoughtful plating that shows the kitchen understands how important freshness is in Vietnamese cuisine.

On a second visit, I brought two friends who are serious foodies and notoriously picky reviewers. One tried the grilled pork vermicelli bowl, while the other went for the banh mi sandwich. Both dishes delivered on flavor and portion size. The pork had that slightly smoky, caramelized edge you get from proper marination and high-heat grilling. The banh mi bread was light and airy with a delicate crust, holding together without falling apart-something many places struggle with. It’s small technical details like this that separate a decent Vietnamese diner from a great one.

What stands out most is consistency. In my experience, consistency is the true measure of a reliable restaurant. The National Restaurant Association often emphasizes that repeat customers drive long-term restaurant success, and that only happens when quality doesn’t fluctuate. Based on multiple visits and local reviews I’ve read, this place maintains its standards. Online ratings frequently mention friendly service, generous portions, and quick turnaround times, especially during lunch hours.

The menu goes beyond pho, offering rice plates, stir-fried dishes, spring rolls, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Speaking of coffee, their iced cà phê sữa đá has that bold, slightly bitter kick balanced with condensed milk sweetness. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, you might want to pace yourself-it’s strong in the best way.

The interior is casual and clean, nothing flashy, but comfortable enough for family dinners or a relaxed weekday lunch. Staff members are attentive without hovering. During one visit, I noticed them patiently explaining menu options to a first-time guest who wasn’t familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. That kind of hospitality builds trust and makes newcomers feel welcome.

From a nutritional standpoint, pho can be a relatively balanced meal. Broth-based soups tend to be lighter than cream-based alternatives, and with lean proteins and fresh herbs, they align well with dietary guidelines that emphasize whole foods and fresh ingredients. Of course, sodium levels can vary, so if you’re monitoring salt intake, it’s worth asking about modifications. The staff seems accommodating when it comes to special requests.

Lewisville has no shortage of dining options, but finding a dependable Vietnamese restaurant with both flavor and value isn’t always easy. This location manages to combine authentic cooking methods, thoughtful preparation, and friendly service in a way that feels effortless. Whether you’re a pho enthusiast who can tell the difference between a rushed broth and a properly developed one, or someone just exploring Vietnamese flavors for the first time, the experience here feels genuine rather than commercialized.

It’s not a trendy, overhyped destination-it’s simply a solid, satisfying place that delivers what it promises: warm bowls, fresh ingredients, and a menu that keeps regulars coming back.

  • Amazing restaurant. My boyfriend and I have been coming into this establishment at least once a week for about two years now. The service is always top notch and the staff is all very kind. The pho is unmatched — genuinely the best I’ve ever had, the broth and noodles are just so good. The egg rolls are delicious as well. Portions are amazing sizes and always come out pipping hot! Sometimes I like to look out the window at the McDonald’s and see if we can get out food faster than the people in the drive through — we almost always do.

  • My grandmothers favorite pho place. The broth is flavorful and fragrant, and all of the menu items are delicious, even vegetarian options. This is the only restaurant I bother ordering fried rice at, haha.

  • Been coming here for years and finally reviewing! As someone who eats way too much pho you should trust my review. And the verdict is - BEST PHO EVER!! Not exaggerating. Always amazing! They also give very generous portions too which is nice! My go to - steak and meatball pho and a honeydew smoothie with boba! Mmmm

  • No 2 Pho in this area, I vote no 1 to pho spot nearby H mart, but if you live nearby don't want drive all the way to Carrollton Pho One is a good choice. Pretty yummy.

  • Perfect for vegetarian with a fairly large selection. They have a separate section for vegetarians in the menu. We tried Bahn Mi, Pho, fried rice with Tofu and spring rolls. All was very good, complimented by tasteful sauces. Fully satisfied!! The service was very efficient and the food came quite quickly. Good ambience.

  • Came in for dinner with my big family. The waiter was very friendly and accommodated all our kids needs. Price is really good for the portion. Their food itself is also good. We love to stop here when we are in the area.

  • The service was great, but I wasn't super in love with everything because we paid 6 bucks for Thai tea and it comes out in what looks like a small cup. The quality of the food was good, but not great. 6 dollars for 2 very small fried spring rolls. This restaurant will do, but I have other Vietnamese restaurants in the area I think are better.

  • Food was flavorful. My entree came out before my appetizer. Service could've been better as waiter only came to table twice. Once to take our order and once to bring our drinks. He never came back to see if we needed more water or something else to drink. Otherwise food was delicious and I would recommend.
